Finding peace and “normal” in todays world can be interesting. We are constantly re-defining our lives and maneuvering throughout these unprecedented times. So where are you with “normal”? Is there a normal way to live right now, and what is your definition of it? How can we live our best way and feel so relaxed and not bothered by what anyone else is doing? Stress is something that I don’t think we can say enough about. It’s here, it’s there, it’s everywhere and it’s how we respond to what’s happening in our surroundings that carries a huge impact in our lives, outside our selves and also internally. Do you think about stress in a sense of what it does to our system with even the simple function as digesting food? Do you wonder why your friend or someone you know eats so well, and still always gets sick or run down? Food is our fuel, it literally helps us move, go, sleep, relax, think, and frankly do anything, if we didn’t eat we wouldn’t survive. So what to eat? Well, as you know I will talk your ear off about organic, non-gmo, whole foods, nothing out of a box, nothing “dead” or living on shelves at the market.  But lets take a minute and think about what stress does…you could eat the best of best foods, but still be under so much stress from your own triggers and trauma, that you can’t function, so your “normal” living pattern is very different than anyone else’s normal. I think we all need to take a step back and take a “chill pill” (I haven’t said that since high school, Ha!) But you all know what I mean. One literally can not get on social media today without being ridiculed for your opinions, or think /judge someone else’s beliefs and think why did they post such a thing? We look at others and think should we do that?– where a mask, not wear a mask, get upset when you “have” to wear one, or feel upset when others don’t.  Taking a step back and finding your way in life right now can be daunting.  Have you lost friends because of everything? Have you found new ones that think like you, or feel the same as you do about these worldly subjects? I feel like life this past year has given us all a huge gift — to really evaluate your thoughts and beliefs, and finding your new “normal” way in life. How can you move though life, feeling powerful, confident, comfortable, excited, while feeling we are normal and OK with SELF.

Finding peace in everything we do, the food we eat, the lifestyle we live, the thoughts we think, the process it takes to unwind trauma, the meditations we do, these are all not one size fits all, and very individual, so your normal is not someone else’s normal, and we all need to “get over” this thinking of “you should feel better by now”  I have clients who do the exact same nutritional supplement, where one person is totally fine with it, and feels better within days, while the other gets constipated, or gets a headache, etc…we are completely different people and we all need attention differently, and unfortunately Doctors look at us like we are textbooks and give a protocol the same way for every person.

Thriving on good nutrition practices we see results that happen faster, much much faster. Sleep is restored, the body can heal faster, more energy comes through on a daily basis and not just at random times, moods balance out, joints no longer ache, skin clears up, hair becomes fuller, and our lives are in a sense, happier. The next step is normalizing your own patterns and how you function, so stress isn’t part of the daly routine. Stress zaps energy, slows digestion down to nothing, (how can we run from a bear and still digest our food?) Cortisol shoots up with stress, cortisol also shoots up every-time we have/eat sugar. Our bodies don’t understand a little stress compared to a big stress, stress is stress, and it doesn’t work in the body.  Stress on the other hand, can be beneficial when needing to get that final work project done, or running from the street robber, etc. It thrives and gets us out of harms way or jerks our system into gear to get that project down. However, living like this day in and day out will literally zap yourself from functioning from these chronic stress patterns.
